A hazai komlótermesztés újjáélesztéséről szóló együttműködési megállapodást írt alá a HEINEKEN Hungária Zrt. a Magyar Ökumenikus Segélyszervezettel az Agrárminisztériumban 2018-ban. A hároméves program révén a vállalat tovább növelheti a felhasznált hazai alapanyagok arányát a termelésében, melyen keresztül egy kistérség hátrányos helyzetű családjai munkalehetőséghez jutnak. A program fő célja a munkahelyteremtés, valamint a biodiverzitás növelése. Amellett, hogy a kezdeményezés megvalósulását a HEINEKEN Hungária 30 millió forinttal támogatja és a megtermelt komlót piaci áron felvásárolja, ezzel biztosítva a fenntartható működést és a hátrányos helyzetű családok biztos megélhetését.

A program ugródeszka lehet ahhoz, hogy a nagy múltú komlótermesztési kultúra ismételten felkerülhessen a magyar mezőgazdaság palettájára, biztos jövedelmet nyújtva a nehéz helyzetű régiókban élő családoknak. A háztáji gazdálkodás elméleti és gyakorlati képzése mellett a családok a szociális gazdaság működésébe, illetve a sajtműhely és a gyógynövénykert művelésébe is bekapcsolódnak. A fentiekkel párhuzamosan futó mentorálás és a térségi letelepedés előkészítése abban segíti a rászoruló családokat, hogy később véglegesen elhagyhassák a szociális ellátórendszert és önálló életet kezdhessenek. Azáltal, hogy olyan családoknak nyújt kiszámítható munkalehetőséget, akik az adott térségben másként nehezen tudnának megélhetéshez jutni, a kastélydombói modell a Heineken társadalmi felelősségvállalási szándékaihoz is szervesen kapcsolódik. Számukra a komlótermesztés elsősorban tervezhető jövőt jelent, a vállalatra pedig kiváló alapanyagot, amelyben egyszerre vannak jelen a magyar termőföld ásványai és egy többszáz éves termesztési kultúra tapasztalatai.

HEINEKEN Hungária 30 millió forinttal támogatta a programot, valamint azt is vállalta, hogy a megtermelt komlót piaci áron felvásárolja, ezzel biztosítva a fenntartható működést és a hátrányos helyzetű családok biztos megélhetését. 2018-ban Kastélyosdombón mintegy háromezer komlótövet telepítettek. A tövek mindegyike jó termést hozott, így az egyik kedvelt magyar sör 2020-ban hazai komlóból készülhet. A cél az, hogy hosszú távon a Soproni sörök előállítása során 100 százalékban magyar komlóra támaszkodhassanak.
