Ms. Ürge-Vorsatz was graduated from Radnóti Secondary School, then received her degree in astrophysics from Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest. In 1996, she doctorate in Environmental Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Since 2001, she is academic professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at Central European University (CEU). Since 2002, she participates in the work of the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She played a leadership role (Coordinating Lead Author) in the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change when it received the award in 2007. From 2007, she is director of the Centre for Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Policy. As lecturer, she has been helping the work of national and international educational institutions. In 2008, she received Medium Cross Medal of the Hungarian Republic.
