Dr. Csaba Borbély

Mr. Borbély graduated from an agricultural vocational school with Animal Health Technician specialization in Szekszárd, then received his production engineering degree from the Agricultural College of Kaposvár (now: University of Kaposvár) in 1991. After graduation, he worked at a family farm in Western Germany for eight months, then continued his studies at the Pannon University of Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Animal Husbandry (now: University of Kaposvár) and graduated in Agricultural Engineering with major in Animal Husbandry. Between 1994-1997, he was a PhD candidate, then worked as an engineer at the Pannon University of Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Institute of Business Economics. In 1999, he defended his PhD thesis with “summa cum laude”. Between 1999-2006, he won four post-doctoral scholarships. From 2000, he worked as assistant professor, and from 2005 on as associate professor at the University of Kaposvár. Between September 1, 2005 and December 31, 2006, he was academic vice-dean of the Department of Economics and in 2007 for one term, he was responsible for educational tasks as vice-rector of the University of Kaposvár. Currently, he is head of the Department of Agribusiness and Management. His research focus is on; economics of the livestock sector and food waste. He is married, his wife is an accountant and they have three children.
