Our solution for water efficiency and water saving is presented in several ways. As we only use drinking water to wash the salads and vegetables, we try to appreciate every drop of water.

Since the end of 2016 we have been using well water to wash salads, only the social departments are provided by the urban water supply. Another advantage of this is that the well gives cooler water than the urban network, so the need for pre-cooling is reduced. Separate measurement of water use areas should be mentioned so that any overuse can be controlled more effectively. To improve efficiency, perlators are installed on taps and hoses in production areas. The re-use of washing water appears as an eco-innovation. The water can be used after cleaning with several degrees and sizes, or after reverse osmosis. The double-tub washing technology (the first – dirty – tub is filled up continuously from the overflow of the second – almost clean – tub with washing water, reducing the intake of clean water) is in connection with the previous process.

With the help of the well water application, we achieved our goal, as in 2017 the amount of water extracted from the urban network was monthly in average 115 m³, while this value had been reduced to 21 m³ per month by 2018. In addition, we consider the reduction of the use of well water an important achievement, thanks to water efficiency solutions (such as the double-tub system).
